Nine months before their winter wedding in Austria, the two of them sat down with me for the first time, and it quickly became clear how they envisioned their day in the mountains: small, relaxed, and without the typical wedding stress often associated with big celebrations.
The challenge? There were several hundred kilometers between their home and the wedding venue, and their daily lives were already packed with work and studies. On top of that, they wanted to avoid over-scheduling their wedding day or constantly involving family and the wedding party with tasks.
The color concept of this winter wedding ranged between rose, white, and soft natural tones and perfectly complemented the snowy backdrop of the Alps. Seasonal and regional flowers were used in the floristry, allowing the entire design to blend harmoniously into the ambiance of Rufana Alp. In addition, many candles, natural materials, and details further enhanced the cozy look of the parlor and created a truly intimate and cozy atmosphere.
The winter wedding started off very relaxed with the getting ready at Rufana Alp. While the bride got ready with her maid of honor, the groom prepared himself down in the valley with his best man. This allowed both of them to spend the morning in complete peace before the day truly began.
Even before the guests arrive for the civil ceremony, we've planned a first look in the snow. Especially for a mountain wedding, this is always a lovely way to consciously take time for just the two of you before the ceremony. Many couples are noticeably more relaxed before the ceremony if they've already seen each other – and at the same time, this often results in the most natural couple photos because there's no time pressure yet and the day feels calmer overall.
The couple's photos were taken immediately afterward at the Rufana Alp, amidst the snow-covered winter landscape of the Alps. The free ceremony then moved to the heated winter garden. Especially for a winter wedding in Austria, this was the perfect combination of a cozy atmosphere and mountain panorama – and the best part: no one had to freeze.

In my blog, I share insights from real weddings, thoughts from the planning process and experiences from various projects. It's about processes, decisions and framework conditions - not about trends or staging.
The articles are aimed at couples who are looking for guidance and want to understand how weddings can be planned and realized.
One of the coolest highlights of this mountain wedding in Austria was definitely the flow of the day. Instead of starting the party sometime in the evening, we simply moved it earlier – with DJ and Live Saxophone immediately after the humanist wedding ceremony. And what should I say: I LOVE IT!
Just because at the winter wedding also Parents, children, and senior guests when they were there, it quickly became clear that it probably wouldn't escalate completely until the middle of the night. So why artificially postpone the good mood until later in the evening? Thus, the Reception simply a casual day party in the middle of the Alps. There was dancing, chatting, toasting, and the mood was already really good in the afternoon. Afterwards, it continued very relaxed with dinner, cake, and a cozy get-together in the living room.
We celebrated our wedding on January 30th at the beautiful Rufana Alp in Bürserberg, and for that, Full package including Wedding Day Manager booked. The entire planning with Ronja was incredibly fun. She is super open, warm, and very likable.
Without Ronja, we would have Dream wedding in the mountains and didn't get it done. She always had great ideas, was open to our wishes, and had everything under control. Even on the wedding day, we could 100 % rely on them and we didn't have to worry about anything – we could just enjoy ourselves.
